What is Runpod?

Runpod is a cloud GPU platform built for developers, AI researchers, startups, and businesses that need access to high-performance computing without purchasing and maintaining physical GPU servers. The platform provides on-demand GPU environments for artificial intelligence, machine learning, model training, fine-tuning, inference, data processing, image generation, video generation, and other GPU-intensive workloads.

Instead of investing thousands of dollars in dedicated hardware, users can rent GPUs through Runpod and pay according to their actual usage. The platform currently offers more than 30 GPU models across 31 global regions, ranging from cost-effective GPUs for development and inference to high-end accelerators designed for demanding AI workloads.  

Runpod provides several deployment models. GPU Pods offer direct control over dedicated GPU environments, Serverless provides autoscaling GPU endpoints for AI inference, and Clusters support distributed multi-GPU workloads. This allows users to start with experimentation and move toward production without changing cloud providers.

One of Runpod’s biggest advantages is flexibility. Developers can bring their own Docker containers, frameworks, libraries, models, and development environments. The platform supports popular AI frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and JAX while giving users control over their runtime environment.
